This guide walks through one complete cover generation in eight steps, from creating a style profile to exporting an image you can publish. The whole flow runs inside Muse Image, takes about ten minutes, and fits comfortably within a free account's monthly allowance.
A free account and one specific topic. No design background is required, and you do not need to know how to write prompts — what you supply is the content topic, the audience, the mood you want, and the channel you are publishing to. If you already have colour or style preferences, decide them now; step two uses them.
Order matters here. Build the profile first and your very first image already carries your style; generate first and add the profile later, and those early images burn credits for nothing. The profile holds what is true every time — style leanings, colour, things that must never appear. The per-run brief holds what is specific to this one post.
Steps

Sign up free and go to the Muses page. A free account includes 5 credits per month, enough for one three-image starting pack and two card draws.
Name the profile, pick style tags, add colour hints, and use the constraints field for anything that must never appear. These are the parts that stay constant across runs and get appended to every prompt automatically.
Go to Creator Studio from the navigation. In the first section, bind the Muse profile you just created — or choose to generate without a profile.
Enter the content title or topic, a short summary, the mood you are aiming for, and anything to avoid this time. This is the run-specific information, and it takes priority over the bound profile.
Choose Xiaohongshu, YouTube, X, blog, or generic and the platform's default ratio is applied. You can override it with 3:4, 16:9, 1:1, 9:16, 1.91:1, or 21:9. The ratio drives composition, so the wrong one means a bad crop at publish time.
Submit and the job enters the queue; three coordinated cover assets appear on the result page when it completes. This costs 3 credits, and the outstanding charge is refunded automatically if the job ultimately fails.
If the direction is right but details are not, click card draw. Muse Image assesses the actual image across style, colour, composition, mood, and typography, rewrites the prompt from those findings, and produces the next version. Add a direction for this draw or leave it blank.
Download the PNG once you are happy with a version. Crop it to your platform's recommended dimensions, then overlay the title and wordmark in your design or publishing tool. The cover size guide lists the per-platform numbers.

About ten minutes the first time, most of it spent building the Muse profile. Once the profile exists, later covers usually take one to two minutes each: write the topic, pick the ratio, generate.

If the overall direction is wrong, go back to the studio, edit the intent, and generate again. If the direction is right and only details need work, card draw is more efficient — it reads the actual image to decide what to change instead of guessing from scratch.
Better not to. AI-rendered lettering is unreliable in letterforms and spelling. Overlaying the title, wordmark, and final layout in your design or publishing tool gives a cleaner result and is much easier to keep consistent across a series.
